POKER TERMS beginning with "L"
Late Position: The position in a round of betting where the player acts after most of the other players have acted. In online poker games, a Late Position is usually considered to be the two positions next to the dealer button.
Limit Poker: A poker game in which there is a Fixed-Limit on how much the players can bet or raise in a round. Often referred to as Low-Limit, Medium-Limit, and High-Limit games.
Limp: To call an opening forced bet (to "Limp into a hand").
Live Blind: A Blind where a player can raise even if no other player has raised yet.
Live Card: A card that has not yet been seen by any player.
Live Hand: A hand that can still win the pot.
Lock: A hand that is guaranteed to win at least a portion of the pot.
Loose: Playing Loose is playing more hands and holding onto the hands longer.
Lowball: A type of poker game in which the lowest hand wins the whole pot.
Low Poker: (AKA Lowball). A poker game in which the pot is awarded to the lowest hand.
