Our True Poker review covers games and table stakes, tournaments, software, bonuses and promotions, payment options, and overall ratings. The True Poker software has advanced audio and 3D graphics that take a little getting used to, but it is a pleasant experience unless you are a speed player. TruePoker was established in 2000, making it one of the early poker rooms to go online. One of their partners is MaximOnline.com (Maxim Magazine), so you may have seen their name and logo on non-gaming sites elsewhere on the Internet.

True Poker Games and Table Stakes

True Poker currently has the following games: Texas Hold em (limit, pot limit, and no limit tables), Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo. They have games with table stakes ranging from $1/$2 to $100/$200.

Review of True Poker Tournaments

True Poker has decent Texas Hold'em tournament traffic with a variety of no limit, pot limit, and limit tourneys to choose from each day of the week. They hold New Player Sit-n-Go Tournaments for a shot at up to $100 for free, and occasional freeroll tournaments. You can also win seats to the WSOP World Series of Poker, and you can win a Poker Cruise and Tournament hosted by 2003 WSOP Champion Chris Moneymaker.

Poker Room Software

You can choose to download and install their software with high or low quality graphics, which will basically just affect how soon you can start to play. Be advised that the high quality download is fairly large (23 MB vs. 10MB for low quality), plus you have to restart your computer in order to complete the install (this is slightly annoying). However, once you get their poker room software up and running, it looks pretty cool with their 3D graphics, although it plays a little slow. So, if you are in a hurry to play lots of games, choose a different site.

True Poker Bonuses and Promotions

True Poker offers a deposit bonus of 100% (up to a $200 maximum bonus) on your first purchase. You can also earn True Poker Points by playing in raked ring games - you can use these points to enroll in their freeroll tournaments or cash them in for their "True Poker Gear".
