Poker Champs ReviewOur Poker Champs review features one of the newest real online card room with its own software platform. IMPORTANT: PokerChamps.com no longer accepts players from the United States, therefore U.S. citizens may NOT open an account at PokerChamps. Poker Champs is the home of three time World Poker Tour winner Gus Hansen and provides for an enjoyable and state-of-the-art online poker experience. You will also run across Swedish poker star Erik Sagstrom "Erik123" on their site. The card room software is unique, fast, lets you play up to 6 tables at the same time, and has a hi-tech look and feel. Another benefit of PokerChamps is that players can earn up to 50% rake back (increases as you play more). This site does not yet have a large player base, and since they have stopped accepting players from the U.S., their growth potential has been hampered. ♣ ♣ For more opinions and tips for PokerChamps.com, be sure to read our other Poker Champs reviews. Poker Champs Ratings
Overall Poker Champs ratings based on our poker review are (out of 10):
Poker Champs Games and Table StakesPoker Champs games are currently limited to Texas Hold'em and Omaha, but it looks like they will soon be adding Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo tables as well. Table stakes range from $0.02/$0.04 to $10/$20, but the higher limits will probably also increase as their player base grows. Naturally, players can play for real or fun money. Review of Poker Champs TournamentsPoker Champs has regular, Sit&Go, Turbo, and Turbo Satellite tournaments (quite low prize pools at the moment), as well as a weekly and monthly main event with larger prizes. They have a lot of daily freerolls, but they have small prizes ($35 is typical) and usually over 1000 competing players. PokerChamps Card Room SoftwareTheir card room software is the highlight of the PokerChamps site. It is the newest original software, that is, which isn't based on an existing platform (and isn't simply yet another skin of an exisiting poker site). It has a unique techno design and plays fast. One of the best features is that it supports multi-table play, the exact number of tables which you choose when you start the software (up to 6 tables at a time if you are using a 1600x1200 resolution, otherwise up to 4 tables simultaneously). Additionally, they are run in the same window, so you don't need to keep clicking back and forth between windows. The lobby gives the normal information you expect: stakes, players, limits, seats, average pot, % viewing flop, hands per hour, wait, and details for tournaments. The software is pretty intense and requires a lot of space (60MB on your hard drive). Poker Champs Rake Back PromotionPoker Champs has a CashFlow Bonus Program that is essentially a rake back promotion where you can earn between 5% and 50% of the approximate rake you contributed by playing in real money games. However, the chances of earning more than, say 20%, is quite difficult unless you are a hardcore player on higher limit tables. See the PokerChamps site for full details (it gets a little complicated. . .).
