Planet Poker Review

The results of our Planet Poker review are very favorable, and by looking at the ratings you will see that with a larger player base they could be one of top poker rooms (more players would allow them to hold larger and more frequent tournaments, and so on). They also just upgraded their cardroom software, which is a nice improvement. PlanetPoker was the ORIGINAL online poker room to offer real money games, back in 1998, and they have one of the most trusted names in the industry. Their resident poker celebrity is the cardroom manager Roy Cooke, whom you might recognize from Card Player magazine.

Planet Poker Games and Table Stakes

Planet Poker has a very good game selection, including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha (8 or Better), Seven Card Stud, Stud (8 or Better), Razz, Lowball, and Draw Poker. However, you might have trouble finding a table for non-Hold'em games except during peak hours. The size of their table stakes are decent for playing at the lower limits, ranging from $0.05/$0.10 to $15/$30.

Planet Poker Tournaments

Planet Poker doesn't have a lot of tournament traffic at the moment. They do have a daily $2,000 Shoot Out Tournament.

Review of Planet Poker Software

Planet Poker has excellent cardroom software and graphics which they just upgraded. You can choose your own avatar and play two tables simultaneously. Plus, the software supports a detailed hand history that is easily accessible.
