Pacific Poker ReviewIMPORTANT: Pacific Poker has stopped accepting players from the United States, therefore U.S. citizens may NOT open a real money account at Pacific. Our Pacific Poker review starts with the fact that Pacific Poker is owned by Casino On Net, the world's largest online casino. However, with the changing of online gambling laws in the United States, they decided to stop accepting players from the US. Therefore they are going to get a LOT smaller VERY quickly, and we need to wait and see what the end effect on their business will be. They are one of the few poker rooms that offers both a download and no-download version of their software. ♣ ♣ For more opinions and tips for PacificPoker.com, be sure to read our other Pacific Poker reviews. Pacific Poker Ratings
Overall Pacific Poker ratings based on our poker review are (out of 10):
Pacific Poker Games and Table StakesPacific Poker has the following games: Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo. They have games with table stakes ranging from $0.05/$0.10 to $30/$60 with Pot-Limit and No-Limit tables. Players and CompetitionSince their poker room gets a lot of cross traffic from Casino On Net, Pacific Poker gets a lot of new players. And because there are a lot of new players, for example, the percentages of players viewing the flop are VERY high (you can check the percentages for each table in the lobby). A relatively new addition to their site is a poker forum for players and visitors. Review of Pacific Poker TournamentsPacific Poker has a LOT of tournaments going on at any given time, and the number is growing rapidly. Their site is highly recommended for tournament action, especially for Hold'em tournaments. The feature daily tournaments with guaranteed prize pools of $10,000 and $30,000 and a new type of tournament called Nitro Ultra or Absolutely Fast, which have 2 minute level-ups and a 7 second time limit on decisions, as well as daily free rolls. In October they hold the Pacific Poker UK open tournament, which is an offline tournament with a $1,000,000 prize pool. Players can play in online tournaments on their site and win a seat to this tournament including airfare and accommodation - a total value of $12,500. Poker Software and StatisticsYou can check your hand history, which allows you to watch a replay of every hand you have ever played on their site. You can also make player notes very easily. The software is very stable, but the game speed is slower than other online poker rooms, and the graphics are very basic. With their recent software upgrade, you can now play multiple tables simultaneously in their ring games and tournaments. Pacific Poker Bonuses and PromotionsPacific Poker has an attractive bonus program. They give you a 25% matching bonus on your first deposit, up to a total bonus of $100. You will also receive loyalty points for each hand you play, which you can redeem for cash. See the Pacific Poker site for full details.
