Golden Palace Poker Review

NOTE: Our Golden Palace Poker review also applies (for the most part) to Victor Chandler Poker, Grand Online Poker, and Gold Nugget Poker because they share the same software. Golden Palace Poker is owned by the Golden Palace online casino, which has been on the Internet since 1997. Their player base is growing quickly, fueled by their casino players, so you will find some fresh (and soft) competition on their site. They also have some nice tournaments to enter, but they fall behind in other areas we review such as their game selection, software features, bonuses and promotions, and their cashout process.

Golden Palace Poker Games and Table Stakes

Golden Palace Poker has a limited selection of games - at present only Texas Holdem, Omaha, and Omaha Hi Lo. They have micro limit games with table stakes starting at $0.02/$0.04 and going up to $10/$20. If you get special permission, you can play at higher stakes tables (up to $150/$300).

Review of GoldenPalace Poker Tournaments

You will find more tournament players at GoldenPalace, but they also have decent ring game action at their low and mid-limit Holdem tables. They also have regular freeroll tournaments, some with nice prizes, BUT these "free rolls" require Action Points to enter (you earn these by playing in real money games). They have a $100,000 freeroll tournament in which you can win entry via an Online Series of Poker (OSOP) "feeder tournament" or buying in directly via a satellite tournament. You can also win a entry to the European Poker Championships and the UK Open Championship through Golden Palace.

Poker Room Software

Golden Palace's poker rooms software is about average with simple graphics. What is lacking is that the lobby does not show the percent of players seeing the flop or the number of hands played per hour. Also, you will need to take your player notes manually because the software does not include that feature.

Golden Palace Poker Bonus & Bonus Code

Golden Palace Poker offers a first time deposit bonus of 25% up to $100. You must enter the Bonus Code: roodles. Earning this bonus can take awhile, plus you may run out of time because you are given a limited time to earn it. You have to accumulate 125 Action Points for every $1 of bonus before the bonus will be credited to your account. You earn Action Points for playing in real money games. GoldenPalacePoker.com CashOut Options

They state on their website: "First time payouts and changes to payout instructions are subject to clearance by our Security Department. This can take between 5-10 business days." My argument against this is, "Well, it only took a few minutes for me to send THEM the money...". Just something to think about.
