Review of Inter Poker
|
My review of Inter Poker will focus on this international site that gets high scores from me for their loyalty program, signup bonus, and soft games.
While their software is basic, InterPoker's promotions and ring games are very good. Inter Poker has also employed tables of 3 different currencies to suit
international players.

In fact, this site is mostly dominated by British players. Still, there are also plenty of U.S. dollar games for us beer-drinking,
fast-food-loving, Wal-Mart-shopping Americans. Boy, I love how you guys eat. It really butters up your skin and is much easier on my digestion…

Poker sites that have sister casino sites are usually filled with inexperienced blackjack players who've decided to try their hand at poker. InterPoker is no
exception. The games tend to be soft both preflop and postflop, with many players trying to see a cheap flop. While all ring games vary, it isn't atypical to see
a middle-limit game with 4 or 5 callers routinely seeing the flop. InterPoker offers many high stakes games that tend to tighten up, but most players will find
pretty soft action here.
Sharks: 2 (inverse rating)
The waters are pretty safe at Inter Poker and their joint network and Sun Poker. As previously mentioned, these poker sites are largely casino spin-offs
which draws in inexperienced casino players. However, be aware that this site also has some extremely tough international sharks that enjoy playing at the high
stakes ring games offered. Occasionally, these sharks will find their way to your game when theirs is lacking traffic, or they feel like dropping down for a couple
of hours. Of course, there are plenty of fish with deep pockets, too so don't be overly intimidated if you do decide to increase your bankroll.
Bait (promotions): 5
Inter Poker probably has one of the most generous promotions online with their monthly bonus offer. Not only do you receive a 100% signup bonus on your first
deposit, you can earn an extra $100 every month that you play on the site. Right now, you need to play 450 raked hands to earn the monthly bonus, and that's earned
pretty easily if you play regularly on the site throughout the month. It's basically like getting a deposit bonus every month, which is a very neat promotion.
Be sure to also read our strategy articles so you keep winning money as you earn your bonus. They also offer Bad Beat jackpots that grow everyday and Royal Flush
jackpots on the other end of the spectrum. InterPoker also offers an interesting prop player program that allows you to help start up new games. In exchange for
your time, they'll pay you an hourly fee.
Skin (software): 3.5
While the software is very typical for online poker sites as far as graphics go, I still like some of the chosen images for the cards and chips. Also,
games play at a very nice pace, which is important to me. Most games deal a hand per minute, which helps to speed along gameplay. The software has an overhead
view that is similar to Pacific Poker, except it is a little bit more detailed. Another positive is that InterPoker has original Cryptologic software and hasn't
taken their design from another poker site. One grip that I have is not being able to view tournaments past the current day.
Prey (tournaments): 4.5
The tournament offerings are heavily dominated by British Pound buy-ins, but Inter Poker offers a good solution to different currencies. If you want to play
at a ring game or tournament that is not in your currency, you're free to do so. When you buy-in to the table or tournament, you will be notified of the current
exchange rate for transferring the currency in your account to the currency at the table. When you leave, the conversion will be done again to give your winnings
back to you in your currency. They also offer a good range of tournament buy-ins with plenty going on every day. Unfortunately, freeroll players won't find too many
daily choices.
Overall Inter Poker Rating
Pearls (positives)
With fast game speed and pretty soft tables, InterPoker is an excellent choice for U.S. or international players. Their monthly bonus is also an excellent benefit
to reward regular players.
Hooks (negatives)
They do have basic software in terms of graphics, and traffic is mostly restricted to the low limits during off-peak hours.
The Hammer (overall rating): 4

Tips for Playing at Inter Poker
Meat (tips)
Casino crossover players are usually interested in one thing: action. They usually aren't too patient, and will gladly draw with all sorts of hands. Remember to look
at the strength of your cards even if you hit a straight or flush on the flop as another card could give someone a better straight or flush. With lots of opponents
in the pot, you should try to thin the field with any hand that can be drawn out on.
Blubber (babble)
I'm not sure why, but most international sites seem to have pretty soft and relaxed action. Maybe it's because of their lifestyle. If you take a look at American society
(at least it looks this way from the water), everyone seems stressed out by traffic, money, their job, their appearance, or all of the above. Europeans usually have a
shorter workday, a longer fuse, and a better diet. Maybe they're on to something… unless you count chip butties and bacon butties from England. Blech! Now, a
fish buttie might be alright.
