Review of Euro Poker
|
EuroPoker is another skin of OnGame, and extremely reliable and veteran online poker network. Obviously, the marketing is done towards European players and it is a
multilingual poker room offering English, Russian, Polish, German, and Spanish sections. However, U.S. players might also think about playing here because of their
large deposit bonus. Okay, here's our review of Euro Poker.

Fish: 3.5
While I can usually make a nice evening snack out of these fish, this poker site network is a little more aggressive, even at the lower limits. You'll usually see
flop percentages under 40% so there won't be too many opponents seeing the flop. At the same time, you'll often see larger-than-average pots. The advantage to this
is that you'll be able to make more money while still playing at smaller games. Overall, the player base experiences its share of new fish from heavy promotions but
still retains a large number of loyal (and more experienced) opponents.
Sharks: 3 (inverse rating)
As you get into the higher limits, the competition tends to be pretty observant. You can still beat these opponents by playing a consistent and solid game filled with
deception but you won't run into as many maniacs. The low limits are still filled with inexperienced players so you might start out small and work your way up as you
build your bankroll.
Bait (promotions): 4
The best smelling bait at EuroPoker is the exclusive deposit bonus that you can get with our site. Normally, new players are entitled to a 50% bonus but if you use one
of our links it'll be bumped up to 100% (bonus code: Tony). This bonus is good up to $100, so you can deposit $100 or more to get the full bonus. They're pretty
fair at converting it to real cash - you'll need to earn 10 player points per dollar of bonus. This will go quickly for $1/2 and up players, but micro-limit players will
need to play a good number of hands to clear the full bonus. They also run big deposit incentives like winning a new Porsche for making a deposit. Also, they have a
daily $500 freeroll.
Skin (software): 5
The software is excellent and similar to other poker sites on the network. The graphics are detailed but clean and actions are very easy to recognize at the table.
The avatars have a 3-D effect to them and each has a unique style. The lobby is also crisp without a lot of clutter. Game speed can run up to 70 hands per hour at
full ring games, which is very fast. Talkative players may also appreciate the built-in chat boxes in the general lobby.
Prey (tournaments): 5
The tournament offerings are also one of Euro Poker's strong points. The schedule is very busy with 4 or 5 events per hour during peak times. Also, since this site
features a large European base they never really have an off peak time. Smaller events fill up with 500-700 players and one of their popular events is the
"European Daily" which has a $50 buy-in and typically draws about 300 participants. Overall, this poker site deserves a top score for tournaments.
Overall Euro Poker Rating
Pearls (positives)
With great tournaments and software, this site usually keeps players around. I also give them points for their 100% deposit bonus, which is only offered to our players.
Hooks (negatives)
They lack a large number of promotions and tournaments exclusive to the site.
The Hammer (overall rating): 4

Tips for Playing at Euro Poker
Meat (tips)
Since many of you like single table tournaments (and they're also popular on EuroPoker), I'd like to share some advice on Sit 'n Gos. While it might feel natural to go
for the throat and gills and knock out everyone in sight, you aren't rewarded for a super-aggressive style of play in these events. You only need to consistently finish
in the top 2 or 3 to make a long-term profit. Let the maniacs do their bidding early and avoid confrontation until you really have the best of it.
Blubber (babble)
I've long held that those Mediterranean fish are quite the aggressive player. They usually love to push preflop and won't let up until you surrender the pot.
While this site tends to play that way at times, the network is made up of a large collection of poker rooms so it balances out. This can help tighter players who
might never see a pot against overly maniacal opponents.
